Young people from all boroughs welcome
Launchpad - SEND youth club
Launchpad is our SEND youth club for young people aged 12-18 (Yr 7-13) who have an EHCP and require a minimum of 1:1 support.
Funded by BBC Children in Need, this is a free group that meets weekly on Wednesdays at our fully accessible Pembroke Gardens site from 5-7pm.
Our members enjoy weekly activities like junk modelling, photography projects, arts and crafts, their music area, parties and, of course, playing on the games console. They have had trips to a fireworks display and a festive lights display as well as a day at Stubbers Adventure Sports Centre where they took part in bell boating, team building, bushcraft and archery. Our most recent trip saw young people take part in creating and starring in their own short film on a visit to the Sky Up Academy in Elstree… the Sky team offered additional support to help our young people find their place whether that was acting, editing or helping to write the script for their very own movie!
Every week the team provide a range of favourite drinks and snacks and our experienced staff team are allocated to members to ensure they have a trusted person to support them.
We are only able to take a maximum of eight young people per week so may need to rotate members at busier times.

Launchpad Parent Feedback
My son looks forward for Wednesday club. Every day he asks “are we going club today”. He likes the staff especially Shebu. He wants to take Shebu with him home every week. He likes the activities there and the snacks. When I go pick him up, I always find him happy and laughing, enjoying himself. I cannot wait for Wednesday myself for the break I get when he is at the club.”
My son loves Launchpad. It’s so nice being able to take him somewhere he can be around other children like him, and the staff are always so helpful and supportive.“
Feedback from our Funder:
“It is clear from the report that meeting the different needs, wants, and likes of your participants is at the centre of everything you do, and the skills of your team in knowing the participants and how to communicate with them has been invaluable in supporting the positive changes they have achieved.”
For Families:
If you would like your young person to attend, please contact send@enablingindependence.co.uk to discuss your young person’s needs and book an initial session.
For Childcare Professionals:
We welcome referrals to our youth club but must have completed paperwork before young people attend their first session. Please ask families to email send@enablingindependence.co.uk to discuss their young person’s needs and book an initial session.
