Accessible Transport
Accessible transport solutions to meet a range of needs
Enabling Independence operate a fleet of accessible vehicles across the East London boroughs of Barking & Dagenham, Havering and Redbridge. Our team of highly experienced drivers will assist passengers on board and safely stow any mobility equipment you may use.
We offer a range of services as well as accessible trips and are always happy to hear from local organisations requiring accessible transport as we may well be able to help. From school trips to regular bookings, please get in touch at transport@enablingindependence.org.uk to make an enquiry.

Our Services
Community Transport
Enabling Independence offers a door-to-door service for people using any kind of electric wheelchair or scooter with minibuses up to 16 seats in the London boroughs of Barking and Dagenham, Havering and Redbridge. Our drivers offer the utmost care and attention when assisting clients to board our minibuses and take them to their destination.
Generally at least two weeks' notice is required to book our community transport services. Due to licensing restrictions, we can only help with bookings requiring accessible transport, not just larger groups requiring minibus services.

Dial-a-Ride membership
Please use this link to register for Dial-a-Ride and start booking your trips. www.tfl.gov.uk/modes/dial-a-ride/membership
Medical Appointments
We can help with accessible transport for medical appointments although, if you are expecting to be at your medical appointment for longer than 15 minutes, we may not be able to do a wait and return booking
Summer / Christmas Trips
Keep an eye out for our wide range of summer and Christmas trips in our accessible vehicles at a reasonable price. Summer trips to the seaside and Christmas trips to markets are bookable in advance and will be advertised on our social media pages. You can also be added to our email list to be notified when these go on sale by letting us know at transport@enablingindependence.org.uk
Taxicard
ComCabs could also be a great alternative for our clients when we might not be able to help: Taxicard | ComCab London
We no longer offer wheelchair hire or sale of disability aids. There are a number of local shops that can help with this – you might want to try www.1ststepmobility.com in the first instance.
